Dear Parents,

Let me begin by expressing my gratitude toward the support and generosity you have shown me and the entire school. I am amazed and very proud of the high level of parental involvement that is present at IS 24. On behalf of the faculty and staff at IS 24, I just want to say thank you for sending your children to IS 24 and being our partner in the education and development of your children. Together we make IS 24 THE PRIDE OF GREAT KILLS!

It is increasingly difficult to believe that as you are reading this newsletter, the school year is half over and we are preparing for many upcoming events that bring the school closer together. Be advised that one of those events is Thursday, February 25th which is for Parent-Teacher Conferences in the afternoon and evening. At that time, you will be receiving a Parent Survey for the Department of Education. Please be sure to fill survey out as it allows for the school to listen and make necessary changes based on parent feedback.

Be aware of upcoming dates below and look for future communications we deliver via e-mail, letters or calendars. And, as a reminder, always check your child's Agenda book for messages from teachers or communication they are sending home.

Lastly, as our school and all others have faced a reduction to their budgets, many of our programs and day-to-day activities have remained in tact. I do not know what next year will bring in terms of budgetary matters, but I do know that we will make decisions so that children are least affected in these tough times.
