Arista Criteria

    The Junior Arista Honor Society recognizes students who excel academically and volunteer their personal time to school and community service. Students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade with high academic achievement and school/ community service will meet the criteria for membership in the Arista. To qualify, students are required to meet the following criteria during both 1st, 2nd and 3rd marking period (2nd & 3rd marking period for 6th grade only) for the 2009-2010 school year:

                1. Minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 90%

                2.  Cannot have a grade below 85 in any class.

                3.  No more than (1) "S" in conduct for each semester. All other classes must      have must have an "E" in conduct for each semester.

                4.  Satisfactory attendance and punctuality (90%).

                            Not  more than (4) absences per semester.

                            Not more than (4) lateness per semester.

                5.  Each student must perform a minimum of twelve (12)  hours of school or community service.

                            a.  Community service hours must be pre-approved by the grade Assistant Principal.

                            b.  Community service hours must be verified by the faculty liaison to the Student

                                 Government or in writing on an organization letterhead with verifiable contact            information.
